This is the review I post on google, I felt bad for them as they had some bad ones… If I could give Ella Alkyna more than five stars, I would. We have had an absolutely fantastic stay. Before we arrived, I was a little apprehensive because I’d read some of the negative Google reviews, but they couldn’t have been further from our experience. This is a genuinely outstanding hotel. The staff have been exceptional throughout our stay. Every single person has been warm, professional, polite and genuinely helpful. Nothing has ever seemed too much trouble, and they all take obvious pride in making sure guests have a wonderful holiday. The food has been one of the highlights. The à la carte restaurants are excellent, but the buffet deserves a special mention. It is honestly the best hotel buffet I’ve ever experienced. The choice is incredible, everything is beautifully presented, and the food is constantly being replenished, no matter what time you arrive. I ended up taking so many photos of the breakfast buffet that I probably looked slightly obsessed! The beach is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear water and plenty of sunbeds available whenever we wanted them. Some reviews mention the hills, and yes, there are some steep sections—but that’s very clear from the hotel’s photos before you book. What those hills give you are the most spectacular views across the bay, and they’re absolutely worth it. There are also regular buggies driven by staff who are always happy to give you a lift if you’d rather not walk. The walks themselves are short, and as an overweight 40-year-old, I managed them without any problems! If I had one small suggestion, it would be about the evening entertainment. The musicians and performers were very talented, but the programme felt a little too “cool” and lounge-like for our taste. We’d have loved to see a few more fun evenings celebrating Greek culture—perhaps some traditional Greek music, dancing or themed entertainment. It certainly didn’t detract from our holiday, but it would have made an amazing experience even better. Overall, we’ve had one of the best holidays we’ve ever had. Ella Alkyna has exceeded our expectations in every way. Thank you to everyone who works so hard behind the scenes and on the front line—you’ve made our stay truly memorable. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and would love to return.
