The level of service was seriously high, the hotel was beautiful, food/drinks were fantastic. The hotel couldn't do any more to make our stay more perfect!

The accommodation was undoubtedly beautiful, elegant and stylish, with many of the qualities you would expect from a luxury resort. So this absolutely did not disappoint on arrival and through the majority of the holiday. In the main staff in the breakfast restaurant, at the pool bar and at the restaurants throughout the resort were high quality, hard working, professional and friendly. However, it did not quite deliver a true five-star experience in several key areas. While the overall setting and resort were excellent, there were noticeable maintenance and cleanliness issues in our room and some of the communal areas which, although not significant enough to spoil the holiday, detracted from the premium feel and have you questioning true five star. The food was outstanding throughout and was one of the highlights of our stay, while the Premium All Inclusive package offered good value overall. Unfortunately, the service was inconsistent. As non-drinkers, we requested non-alcoholic beer alternatives for our mini bar on three separate occasions and were ignored each time. We also requested a refill of the in-room bar twice, again without any response. So we paid PAI which celebrates a replenished mini bar, but in actual fact that only happened once in the whole holiday when the maid actually came to our room to do towels and we asked her direct to do it. The entertainment felt generic and seemed identical to that offered at the Atrium Palace Hotel we visited last year - we recognised the acts.... despite the clientele and atmosphere being very different. It left evenings dull and without vibrance; this might have just been the people we happened to be on holiday at the same time as, but was distinctly different to the Palace last year and was a real disappointment. We were back in the room watching TV by 10 most nights. The PAI does not require you to wear a wristband which is very much appreciated. However, every time we ordered anything we had to sign a tab for it (which summarised our bill as €0) but left the awkward 'Tips' line at the bottom. For a €7k holiday, the expectation I tip staff everytime I eat or drink anything felt imposing and unnecessary. We gave a cash tip to the staff that were most deserving at the end of the holiday, but it wasn't actually clear if they were allowed to keep it. The most disappointing aspect of the stay was the departure experience. The reception staff were notably blunt and unhelpful at check-out, expected a tip even though we hadn't met any of them until that moment - which contrasted sharply with the warm and attentive service we received at Atrium Palace last year and the leaving gift from reception. We also had access to our room for an extended time (as long as we needed prior to departure last year), which cost I think between €25-€50 if I remember correctly. Given that this holiday cost approximately £2,000 more than last year, the check out offered at the Prestige was particularly disappointing. We were quoted €176 to retain our room for a late check-out, which felt excessive, only to be provided with what was another room for showering and changing later in the day. The only difference was the 'shower room' was a ground floor suite, rather than our balcony suite. This left us questioning why we could not simply have remained in our own room for a few extra hours (we had already received confirmation it was available). We were supposed to have arrived by 10pm on the day we landed - but due to TUI delays we weren't there until about 1am... losing those hours at the start of our holiday, but presented only with the option of buying them back at notable cost. Also, on our final day, because we hadn't paid €176 to extend our stay in our room, we were left feeling somewhat like second-class guests rather than valued customers; we lost access to the app, we were given 'vouchers' to present if we wanted anything to eat or drink, but only at pool bar - not allowable in the restaurants. While we didn't want to use the restaurants, it was the feeling it left us with which was an unfortunate end to what had otherwise been a very enjoyable holiday.

Fantastic hotel superbly run with outstanding facilities and staff The only negative is it is rather remote/isolated not a massive issue for us as the hotel is all encompassing I just hadn’t appreciated how far away from the main towns it was
