    Hotel not to the standard of 4 star accommodation. Looked great in pictures but reality was totally different. Leaks in the hotel common areas left for days, cracked tiles, ceiling was starting to collapse in the entertainment area. Entertainment area was not big enough to hold the thousands of guests in the hotel either, only had space for around 200 people. Impossible to get a sun lounger as people put towels down before breakfast and left them for hours unaccompanied. Issue with patio door not opening took 4 requests and 3 days to be fixed. Issue with shower overflowing was not dealt with promptly and when we returned to our room later the shower had overflowed and leaked all over the bathroom as it had not been fixed. Was described as a relaxing luxury resort, but hundreds of teenagers were in the hotel on swim camps. The restaurant was like a school canteen with all the noise from them. Really disappointed in the stay. Contacted management a number of times about the issues but the sun bed issue was never rectified. I’ve never experienced that in a hotel. The bathroom in our room was also of a poor standard, it has peeling wallpaper and mold. We were given a complimentary dinner in the Italian restaurant which was nice from the management for all the trouble. But we had paid 5000 euro for the holiday and it just wasn’t good enough. Really disappointed and would not recommend people visit the barcelo active resort Teguise.

    My only minor point was that there were not enough serving spoons for the buffet and often you had vegetarian food next to pork or shellfish so there were times I had to avoid food I would have liked due to contamination

    Booked paid for seats only to find no window absolutely disgusting when booking 10 seats at a cost of £240

    Didn’t like the location or Costa Teguise. Isolated hotel with lack of nice shops nearby. Hotel tired. Locks missing on toilet doors and not cleaned often enough.
