I would like to share that TUI has this hotel as a 5 star accom, when Jet2 shows this as 3.5 stars. My main complaint with the hotel was around food as this was nowhere near a 5 star resort and this is not due to the location, as I stayed at the Tui Blue Xanthe 2 years ago and the food there was outstanding. Castival food was not good, from quality to choice, we had our child with us, and each evening there was nothing for any of us to really choose from. Overall, 5 stars for this accom is miss selling/miss leading customers. Would I use TUI again yes, but I will be given caution and doing my own research of the quality rating you provide for my next holiday. Such a same as I feel we would have got much better quality going back to the Xanthe Hotel next door to where we stayed.

The hotel was not of 5* quality. In our room, we had faulty bedside lights. Mold in our toilet on the ceiling that they had failed to try and paint over. Air-conditioning was temperamental, was always going off and the room was too hot. We has lots of ants in our room around the edges of the floor and all over the balcony. Staff did not help. We had to go out and buy a spray to kill the ants and spray around door frame and balcony. The food was very limited unless you likes chips for breakfast lunch and dinner! We had to queue in long queue for food as there wasn't enough made at the start or service. We decided to avoid the rush and go a little later but still had to queue for buffet and they didnt always replenish the dishes that were meant to be available. They state they offer midnight soup then buffet food at 1am until 5am. We tried the late buffet on the night we arrived but nothing was available..wasnt even a member of staff in the restaurant to ask. We tried buffet again before our flight coming home as we would miss breakfast and there was only slices of cheese and olives and bowl of lemons infested with flies. Toast machine and toastie maker were off and covered up and no staff around to ask. There was maintenance workers cutting and drilling sections of the ceiling next to the lifts, at the kids club...resulting in large pieces of ceiling falling in front of you, but they still continued to carry on. One of the lifts at the lobby bar has a cracks down the glass elevator. We were there for 10 nights and it wasn't fixed or put out of order! They don't have enough staff working to accommodate the volume of guests. This is not the fault of the bar staff as they were all very helpful but they were also complaining and apologising for the lengthy wait time and only 1 bar tender serving. This wait was not even alcoholic drinks, this was just soft drinks. Would've been helpful if they had a soft drink dispenser to use to save waiting in tedious queues for a diet coke. There are many issues with this hotel, All these things are unacceptable in a 5* hotel. We were a party of 6 but 2 separate bookings. We contacted TUI on a few occasions to query the hotel being closed for refurbishment to be told the hotel will be open again for start of season. The hotel was then closed down after reopening due to recommendations not been met. We were told by TUI, you didnt know of any issues. We only know of these issues as they were getting updated on the Castival social page. We discussed these issues directly with the hotel but they bothered by it. We didn't manage to meet our rep as we arrived on the Saturday and our rep was only available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We had already booked a few excursions, the rep wasnt around before the trips and has already finished by the time we got back to the hotel. We looked at hotels close by the Castival but they were all very expensive for a party of 6 to move to better accommodation. I really think this hotel should get a TUI inspection as it does not meet requirements for a 5* accommodation.

the experience was the worst has with any holiday company ever. Not up to your normal high standard. too much wrong to put down here so I am sending a 10 page letter to your head office

“Saubere bettwäsche wäre schön”

Unser Zimmer war bis auf die Sauberkeit, vor allen der Bettwäsche und beim wäschewechsel erst auf Beschwerde i.o.auch die Klimaanlage musste erst Gangart gemacht werden. Bei Starkregen wurden Bereiche abgesperrt weil das Dach undicht ist.die balkonbrüstung aus Glas ist nie auch bei Bezug des Zimmers gereinigt worden. Ansonsten ist das Hotel eine wunderschöne Anlage, Hat auch eine gute Lage. Bis auf die Reinigung waren alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich.
