    On arrival receptionist was helpful but we are in 70’s and were put on 3rd floor (no lift) but were then put on ground. We were accosted by a man who we thought was with hotel as in the lobby, he told us all about the hotel and would show us where to have breakfast. Next morning he wanted to see driving licence & credit card…when asked why we said no but he did not leave it and wanted to know why we would not go with him…it was a time share company that work out of the lobby and approached us every time we went for meals, bar etc…not what we expected in a hotel lobby. Also around the sunbeds, on the beach the hawkers from 10am - 4 pm were constantly pestering to sell their wares. This was most unrelaxing, annoying and made us feel uncomfortable. The quiet pool near the beach was closed so it was a long walk to the pool near the lobby for a swim. During our stay it was difficult to get a sunbed, usually towels placed at daybreak. Pool area so noisy, with loud music during the day, people sitting at pool bar ALL day drinking, pool water was very murky around that area, we avoided it as some people did not appear to get out for many hours…. At night the pool does not close and people swimming in the dark, hanging around the area until very late. Noise and music played until early hours….our room was near pool and we had very little sleep due to this for 7 nights. Security did nothing, were not showing a presence even though we asked…. Food in main restaurant was repetitive, but not a bad quality. Some of the à la cartes were not really very good. The staff on the whole were polite, but could be a bit brash if you did not tip. We were told they prefer the Spanish speaking, Latino guests as they tip high so get good service. On the whole the staff had a very small English understanding and many had none so could be difficult when conversing like ordering red wine! Beach and seaweed, which is collected did spoil the experience but we understand that was not accommodations fault, but not what we expected.

    Good sized rooms, breakfast buffet was very good and let down by the speciality which ranged from poor to average at best.

    Not suitable for vegetarians. little choice of food and lots of cross contamination with meat dishes. TUI website was completely inaccurate.

    The hotel itself and the grounds are beautiful. The rooms are dated though. We upgraded to the honeymoon suite and although it was spacious it needed some work, the bath taps were rusty and the room just needed some maintenance to make it worth the money. The room wasn’t cleaned very well however the maids did make the bed and left flower heads on the sinks. Lots of construction work going on too but it’s needed for the rooms. The food and restaurants was amazing and the drinks were too. I would have liked a buffed dinner in our adults only side as we had to go to the family side if we wanted this and there was no air conditioning where we sat. Staff are amazing and very polite. We have been to this resort 4 times now but unfortunately this will be our last, this is due to the rooms and the beach being full of seaweed, is so bad you can’t swim in it and when your paying Caribbean prices you want blue sea not brown and the smell for the last 2 visits has been really strong.
