We stayed in the bungalow room. The room was tired and could have done with an update. Some of the furniture was very worn and broken. Repairs had been made to tiles and replaced fixtures but to a poor standard. Overall the room was clean and staff cleaned it everyday. Replacing towels and providing complimentary shower and shampoos. You also had a free safe in the room which was a welcome surprise. However, the room was very load, the walls offered no insulation and we could hear everything from the other rooms next to us and above. The dining experience was very poor, there was always somthing to eat, although it wasn't the best. But if you had a plate or knife and fork to eat with that somtimes was a problem as they often ran out. The buffet could only be discribed as a smash and grab. Staff were busy cleaning however throughout. The pool area was clean although it was cleaned late into the morning, so I the morning you had to walk though the mess of last nights entertainment. The pool was lovely although agian tired in places and could have done with a scrub. The pool bar was lack luster and run down, somtimes running out of drinks and wasn't very inviting place to sit and relax. Actives around and in the pool vaired but overall fun and inclusive. Special to mention to Max and aqua aerobics. The beach was lovely and compared to other areas on the beach clean. It was lifeguarded and felt safe to swim and really relax in the sea. The sun beds however were very worn and somtimes broken although an option could be found. We didnt pay for any water sports but they looked decent from what we saw. Overall the holiday was just what we needed although a little bit of a let down on first impressions we still enjoyed ourselves and it was worth the money... just.

We arrived at 11pm and had not eaten since leaving the uk. The hotel had a power cut and part of it was in darkness. Got shown to our room in the lift, room was on the top floor, we had booked a bungalow. When questioned we were told we would have to wait until the morning to speak to the manager about moving as no-one else had the authority. When asked about food was told we would have to go to the al a carte restaurant and pay. We did but this was in darkness and using battery powered candles. After eating we went to return to the room, this was about 12:30 at this point, because of the power cut the lift had now stopped working. I asked how we get to the room, they said to use the stairs, my mother is 80 and would struggle with the stairs as each floor had 3 flights of stairs. Because of the power cut this was also in darkness so had to use the torch on my phone which was very frightening and we didn’t have a clue where we were going. The steps also had tiles missing or broken, making it unsafe. Throughout the stay the lifts constantly broke down ( we decide to stay in the room as we were told by multiple people, that the rooms were actually better than the bungalows and it was a decent room) we had a couple of issues with the aircon not working and then leaking , whilst we reported this and it was seen to fairly quickly we did have to ring about 4 times over the course of 2 weeks. We also had to get someone out to show us how to use the safe, surely having instructions would have helped! When maintenance came to look at the aircon on the first day he had to wash the filter in the shower and pointed out the shower wasn’t working, so had to log this too. Turned out it was working after going to reception multiple times to log the job (maintenance man was showing us to use the wrong tap, again instructions would of helped) Food was always cold or lukewarm even when they first opened restaurant. Took us a while to get to know where everything was in the hotel, a map on the back of the information sheet would have been very helpful. I’ve never known an hotel where they start cleaning foyer (moping floor etc) and swimming area at around 9am when everyone is up and about. Usually this is done after pool closes on a night or during the night/early hours for foyer. The entertainment was very amateur and didn’t last long, we were in bed for 10:30 very night. No idea where the disco was that it advertised. The hotel was miles away from Hammanet and could only be reached by taxi, didn’t see any buses at all. Here you would get badgered constantly by shop keepers, asking you go in and if you did they’d be saying, what about this, what about that, and wouldn’t actually give you chance to look. This was the same with the few shops that were outside the hotel. The beach was straight across the road from the hotel and was supervised, so the sellers weren’t allowed to come to your beds etc which was good. The trips however we did go on was really good and we felt a lot safer than being on our own. We did the Zulu and zoo, the Atlas Mountains and catamaran tour. All were worth the money, the food was lovely and we was well looked after. Otherall we did have nice holiday, although wouldn’t recommend the hotel with all the issues we had and the location, as couldn’t even go for an evening stroll as no promenade or anything. I can say though that all the staff in the hotel were really nice and friendly, down the maintenance team and cleaners. Always saying hello and asking how you are.
