    Garden room incorrect description. Patio only 3 metres to public road and public footpath with low wall.

    The Costa Calero hotel is a lovely hotel but is starting to look a little tired and in need of some basic maintenance. Lots of the tiles in the pool are coming loose, wi-fi was down in certain outside areas and electronic signage has stopped working. The food can be hit and miss due to overcooking. Starters and desserts are lovely. The mains though, can be dry and overcooking can lead to lots of waste. Burgers for example, are all pre-cooked and left in a dish under a heat lamp. Whilst chicken, steak and fish look like they're cooked fresh, over cooking means they are held on the grill for too long and dry out whilst they wait for the dish under the heat lamp to empty. The rooms are extremely comfortable and as described. Although, there is no kettle for a good english brew.

    We really liked the hotel - the food is great, the rooms were very clean and air-conditioned with comfortable beds and nice balcony areas. The hotel was a bit tired in a couple of places but really lovely in the areas that counted. Facilities (pools, gym, activities and entertainments) were great. The range of drinks was ok but we had to dig to find the wine / drinks list available with dinner. Others complained about sun lounger availability but we always found loungers - even when starting to look mid-morning or lunchtime as we were happy to sit anywhere.
