Reception and bar area was very nice and all staff were very friendly and approachable. Didn't think the accommodation was 4 star, more like 3 star. Although the bedroom was large it was very basic, we had rickety chairs that were not comfortable and a wooden garden table in the room, both of which had seen better days. For a 4 star I would have expected a comfortable sofa or armchairs. The TV was tiny, couldn't see the screen if you were sat in bed, for the size of the room it needs a larger TV preferably wall hung. The breakfast was basic, not much choice.

Wardrobe shoddy. Clothes rail too high up. Bottom drawers false and broken. Room divider cheap and shoddy. Voile curtains at window, metal shutter wouldn't move, lights over pool on all night, shining through window. Strange black mark high up on wall by door. Chair with broken seat. Stained and shabby bedside lamp by window. Radiators old and marked. Room number 6.

The accommodation was exactly as described. The staff were all lovely. The pool area is small and always in the shade so we never used it. Plenty of choice at the buffet continental breakfast and the evening meal was really good! Compliments to the chef.

It was so special the very well kept old hotel was amazing , the staff were so helpful proffesional and informative , we cant wait to return
