The food was awful. It was bland and lacked variety. Far worse than we have experienced at other 4 star hotels and we have been to lots. If we had our time again we would have booked bed and breakfast rather than half-board. We reported our concerns to the TUI rep, who went and tried it for himself. Eventually he sided with his fellow Slovenians and did not agree with our opinion regarding the standard of food provided. He did not think it was fair for us to compare to other 4 star hotels we have stayed at but as we paid more for this holiday than ever before, we think it is fair. Overall though we we were happy with the hotel and the holiday. The view was fantastic as was the indoor swimming pool and the standard of cleaning and general cleanliness. Breakfast was ok, we have had better but it was reasonable enough. The only problem was the evening meals, but this is sufficiently important that we would not visit this hotel again and would only do B&B if we ever visit Slovenia again. One other issue was noise from a nearby bar, which seemed to get worse each night. The bar closes at 1am (nothing the hotel can do about that) but on our last two nights there was noisy, idiotic, drunken behaviour going on until 2am. Slovenia is a lovely country, 75% of people were tourist friendly and Lake Bled is trully spectacular. Would give the holiday 8 out of 10.

I wished I’d booked a lake view on booking. I paid at great expense to change my room to a lake view. The picture of the allocated room on the website is misleading

The food was buffet and excellent choice. The bar area was lacking in that there was no real lounge and only one member of staff on which made getting a drink a little tiresome at times. The housekeeping staff didn't do a very good job in that our room was missed two days out of the seven. The breakfast to go bag was excellent. The Reception Staff were very helpful asnd the Waiters were friendly and prompt clearing the tables. The lack of easily accessible outside seating/sunbathing areas was as little tiresome at times too.
