The hotel was Perfect, our 5th year there and will be returning next year. The RIU Costa Del Sol always gets top marks from me, the staff, cleanliness, food, service and facilities are top class.
Show moreAccommodation was great. The only thing to improve would be to have ice cream / ice lollies available somewhere.

Show moreHotel modern and spotlessly clean. Staff frequently seen cleaning communal spaces. Room spacious and airy. Beds excellent and very comfortable. Bed linen changed during our stay. Hotel and grounds extremely well.maintained - meticulous. Reception staff welcoming and responded quickly to a couple of minor issues within the room, concerning safe not working (battery needed changing) and hairdryer not working correctly (kept cutting out when using) Shower in the bathroom best I've ever used - it was a huge walk-in shower, well designed with a powerful shower - wish I had it at home!! Only negative feedback I would give are towels are very small and thin in comparison to many many other hotels, including budget hotels we have stayed at. Could also do with another couple of plug sockets in the bedroom by the full length mirror, to use hair straighteners etc, only one available was at bedside, quite a distance from the mirror. Tiled floor was lovely, but very slippery when wet. Being able to obtain complimentary large bottles of water from the bars to chill in the in-room.fridge was a particularly welcome touch, as normally these have to be purchased locally from shops. The only thing that doesn't match the rest of the hotel and lets it down badly meaning we wouldn't return, is the food. Having stayed at many all-inclusive hotels all over the world, this was definitely the worst. IWhilst we can appreciate that it is difficult trying to offer a range of food to appeal to all nationalities, majority of the dishes even straightforward ones such as pasta bolognaise, spaghetti in cream sauce to name but two, were extremely bland and devoid of flavour. Thin watery, tasteless soups on offer. Mini cocktail frankfurters along with chicken sausages at breakfast time and the most dreadful tough streaky bacon which was basically just fat, do not match the standard of the rest of this hotel. I found myself reverting time and time again to salad options which were fine, but paying over £1000 a week each to resort to eating tinned tuna and egg mayonnaise salad several times a week is really not on. On occasion food is also not particularly hot - this all needs further investigation and follow up by staying at this hotel yourself so you can experience it. I'm not a particularly fussy eater at all but the standard and quality of food is poor in comparison to the hotel itself.
