“solides Hotel mit gutem Blick auf den See”

Das Royal Village war für unseren Familienurlaub (mit knapp 3 jährigem Kind) völlig ausreichend. Man war schnell am Ufer des Sees (der Aufstieg zum Hotel war etwas anstrengend - für 2.50€ pro Person geht's aber auch mit dem hoteleigenen Shuttle schneller), die Poollandschaft bot stets genügend Liegen und das Wasser war wohl temperiert. Jeden zweiten Abend gabs ab 20 Uhr musikalische Unterhaltung an der Poolbar. Das Frühstück war ausreichend in der Auswahl, beim Abendessen (wir hatten Halbpension) könnte noch etwas, gerade im Hinblick auf Kinder/Familien, nachjustiert werden (viel ausgefallenes, Pizza nur im reservierbaren Restaurant, Nudeln mit Tomatensoße nur im \"offenen\" Restaurant, Pommes nur 2x innerhalb der 8 Tage). Essen an der Poolbar (gegen Bezahlung) sehr lecker. Unser Zimmer war schlicht (Standard Lateral Sea View) aber völlig ausreichend und mit super Sicht auf den See.

Our Tui rep was great, we had already booked our excursions but at the welcome meeting she really brought them to life and gave us some great tips.

Very disappointed when we arrived at the hotel around 2:15pm after having to get on 3 separate transport buses when leaving the airport (1 coach and 2 minibus) after almost an hour and a half of queuing once we got off the plane and entered Check In at Verona airport. We finally walked into the hotel around 2:30pm or so as 1 of 3 couples in total, to be informed that our room wasn’t ready until around 3pm (this ended up to be 3:15pm) when the other 2 couples were given their room keys straight away? Once in the room I had to go immediately back down to reception and advise the receptionist that I’d booked and paid for a Lake View room but couldn’t see the lake from our initial room provided unless I stood on tiptoe and craned my neck around a wall corner and had no way of seeing the lake if I sat down in the chair on the balcony which was most upsetting especially after initially (incorrectly) assuming the hotel were surprisingly me with a bottle of wine (hence our room not being ready on arrival, as highlighted that information on my booking as an available option when booking) and although I was aware when doing so that nothing was guaranteed from the hotel, I found the late room access, no birthday acknowledgement AND most infuriating of all, the lack of Lake View in the room provided after paying over £2,200 for the package holiday in total. Reception person was not very pleasant or sympathetic initially and said the rooms did not come with different ‘Lake Views’ as such (which is not what the booking implied as far as I was concerned when my booking confirmation clearly stated LAKE VIEW on it) and also, the receptionist person booking us into the accommodation once ready was quite clueless and I had to fight for every bit of information to be provided to us, everything from the location of the restaurant(s) to the opening / closing times, where the hotel bar / pool was etc etc. Final annoyance was when I asked about a potential dress code for dinner and was told “men are not allowed to wear shorts in either restaurant” and then panicking as husband only took 1 pair of long trousers so envisaged going out and buying at least 3 more pairs to last the week but when we got to both restaurants on the first night, we could see the majority of men were thankfully wearing shorts!!
