We stayed here in 2018 was really good, that’s why we booked again with whole family. Food generally was awful hardly anything available for young children not even ice cream in the restaurants. Only thing that was decent was breakfast and lunch and the Oceanside , rest was awful. Staff couldn’t even sit the whole family together for dinner, Split us up!! I would never go back to an Royalton again.( have been with them 4 times before but not again)
Show moreregarding our recent two‑week stay at the Royalton Bavaro in Punta Cana, sold by TUI as a 5‑star luxury Autograph Collection property. Unfortunately, the hotel fell significantly below the standard advertised. The hotel did not meet the 5‑star luxury standard promoted by TUI. It was clearly understaffed, poorly maintained, and lacked basic organisation. Staff were more focused on selling the hotel’s “diamond prime package” than providing essential service to regular guests. Service across the restaurants was consistently slow and disorganised. We repeatedly had to ask for basic items such as glasses, drinks, cutlery, and bowls. Orders were forgotten, and staff appeared overwhelmed. In the steak restaurant, only my meal was served while my husband and child were left waiting, even though other tables who arrived later were served before us. Only two restaurants provided acceptable service; the rest were far below 5. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was extremely poor. I felt I could only safely eat well‑cooked food because hygiene standards made me uncomfortable eating freely as I would in other resorts. Cleaning between customers at the buffet was visibly inadequate, floors were dirty and slippery, and food areas were not properly sanitised. We experienced a full loss of running water for several hours, meaning the whole hotel (730 rooms and 3000 people) could not wash or use the toilet. Additionally, we had a filtration issue from day two which we reported multiple times to reception, and TUI. Despite this, the issue was never resolved during our two‑week stay. This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one sold as a premium 5‑star property. After a 9‑hour flight, we arrived late in the evening. Despite knowing our booking details in advance, the hotel had not prepared the child bed. I asked several times at reception and again with the luggage porter, but nothing was done. It was close to midnight when we finally gave up and all three of us had to sleep in one bed. This is not acceptable for a long‑haul . While seaweed is natural, the hotel failed to manage it. For two full weeks, the seaweed was never cleaned, causing a strong unpleasant smell and making the beach uncomfortable to use. The hotel next door cleaned their beach daily, highlighting how poorly ours was maintained. The mini‑bar was barely refilled, often with only a single small item such as one pack of crisps. On several occasions, the staff member responsible appeared to wait in the corridor for a tip before providing items. If no tip was given, the mini‑bar was not restocked properly. This behaviour is unprofessional and unacceptable. In the first week, we returned to our room at night several times to find no towels at all, meaning we could not shower after being out all day. Except for the lazy river, the pools were dirty and poorly maintained. Plates and dishes from room service were left around the pool area and on the stairs for days. The lift buttons were frequently hanging loose, posing a clear safety risk. These issues show a lack of basic maintenance and care. The pool towels provided were extremely worn, thin, and many had visible bleach stains. This is not acceptable for a hotel marketed as a luxury 5‑star property. The bathroom mirror was damaged and never repaired. The filtration issue in our room continued for the entire two weeks despite multiple reports. Several areas of the room were worn and poorly maintained. Photos have been attached to show the condition. This holiday was meant to be a premium 5‑star experience, yet the hotel failed to meet even basic standards. We have travelled with TUI many times and have always been satisfied, but this trip fell far below expectations and left us extremely disappointed. the lack of maintenance and the poor hygiene, and the misrepresentation of a 5‑star luxury hotel.
Show moreHotel needs done serious TLC. Pool area very dangerous with broken slates etc. evening entertainment was more like kareoke. Noise at buffet was ridiculous, numerous other building works going on
Show moreI think the pools could be cleaned more often, mainly the infinity pool. It was so cloudy the second week you couldn’t even see the floor and people constantly tripped up the stairs to the swim up bar because they couldn’t be seen. And lots of food from the snack bar and fruit from the cocktails floating in it
Show moreOnly issue I would say is it advertised a teen club which was one of the selling points for us but there was no teen club. Supposed to be but nothing actually available for over 12 yr olds
