    The so-called speciality restaurants are beyond awful. But the main dining experience was good, by Egyptian standards. Like all Egyptian hotels, they spoil the ambiance with terrible bands and music.

    Grounds were beautiful - clean and nice gardens. Great selection of pools and beach area. Spacious rooms with large comfortable bed. Shower takes a while to heat up but once aware not an issue. Lovely coral reef and great scuba shop. All staff really hard working and when there were issues were keen to resolve. Could have done with more staff in the restaurants as tables could be dirty, had to find own cutlery, waited quite some time to get drinks. This wasn't due to staff not working hard but I think not enough staff. The biggest issues was the food. I had 2 rounds of travellers diarrhoea totalling 1 week of our 2 week break (husband once). I have visited lots of places in the world (SE Asia, Central America) and never been ill like this. Essentially paying all inclusive prices to consume water, rice, potatoes and bread. I booked the hotel as it's 5 star to avoid such issues. Difficult to put our finger on what this was from as we avoided seafood, didn't use any tap water and chose freshly made stuff from the grill (meat, eggs, etc). Other UK tourists experienced the same. The dine around feature was not up to standard. Usually these a la carte places are special but the main buffet restaurant was surprisingly better in terms of service/food (bar Mangal) which is surprising as it is normally the other way around. Again not enough staff, got our orders wrong, bland food etc.
