Show moreHotel was at best a 3 star. Very dated and in need of redecoration and up dating. Areas needed to sit in comfort to enjoy drinks. Restaurant was like a works canteen. Food selection was poor, badly displayed and badly cooked. An aircon vent was dripping over the table underneath and from the bkack mould it had been for a while. We reported it but staff were aware and seemed unconcerned.
Show moreOverall the holiday was great. The flights were with Ryan Air, who's baggage policy is on the smaller side, but we managed. The transfers were on time and efficient. The hotel was nice, needs updates to the furniture on the rooms and the resort could just do with a fresh coat of paint, but overall it was fine. The food was nice and didn't feel too repetitive. Breakfast was the same most days, but it's what you expect for an all inclusive, trying to cater to English clients. There was always plenty to choose from and it was nice that all drinks were included at lunch and dinner services. The location was amazing, you literally walked out of the hotel, at the back, and you were met with shops, restaurants, bars and the beach, on your doorstep. The main part of Playa Blanca was just an easy 20 minute stroll. The drinks in the hotel, do need attention though as the 'cocktails' were just large pours of alcohol with no real effort. The night-time entertainment was lacking and the bar closed at 11pm so there wasn't much to do after that.
Show moreWe had a room with a view of the back of a restaurant. This wouldn't have been a problem, but the male staff were constantly outside smoking and it was very intimidating for 3 female guests. We only worked this out a few days into the holiday so didnt want to make a fuss. I would suggest that this room is given to male occupancy only
