My stay at Turtle Bay Beach Club in Watamu was absolutely wonderful! The hotel is set in beautiful tropical gardens, with lovely swimming pools and direct access to a stunning beach. My room was clean, comfortable and had a lovely balcony. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice, and the staff were always friendly, welcoming and helpful. The whole atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. A fantastic place to stay in Kenya, and I would happily return!
Show moreIt was lovely. The staff were phenomenal and really made it for us
Show moreIt has gone right down hill. Cockroaches in abundance. Food was mainly for the Italians or Germans. Drinks, spirits are now very limited - of which the gin was watered down. When you add fizzy drink to water downed spirits the coke becomes instantly flat. The proof on the bottle read 40%, this would ordinarily floor me after 2, I was drinking up to 6 or 8 shots per day with no effect at all. When I got home I had a shot of my own gin at 37.5% which knocked me out immediately. I was that hungry I even ate the flight food on the way home and bought food from the local supermarket whilst at Watamu. I had to sort out my own assistance without help from your organisation. I was ill when I reached the destination due to being asked to walk, assistance forgetting about me and nearly missing the outward flight - which was delayed due to strikes in Mombasa. Connection flight was missed due to latter explaination. Had to wait for flight from Mombasa for around 6 hours and all we were offered is water! Contacted Roger the Tui rep who said a trip to Mombasa for a day would cost me around £300! Don't think so when hotel notice board said £71, plus tried booking excursions within hotel who tried to con me out of 500 khs! I will be contacting the head of assistance at Heathrow due to the way I was treated - racism was definitely a realism! I was going to book for early next year but now I'm looking into doing the holiday independant of agencies. Also, the taxi on return journey got me there late and I nearly missed my flight PLUS the person at the airport tried to place on Turkish Airlines!!!!!!
Show moreAccommodation was slightly tired in the rooms but the facilities were clean and the setting was spot on.
